Legens
Is anyone else remaining at school for Christmas? I hate staying here alone during the holiday. It gets so desperately lonely. Shouldn't I be used to it by now? This is my least favourite time of year. I suppose I can use the time to brew more perfume. My supply is getting low.

I've got a lot of work to do, so I'm staying around. I might see you around the common room!

All right. I hope so.

I'm sure we will! Any reason you are staying around? It gets rather empty around the castle but I find that it's a good environment to get a lot done.

My papa is taking his mistress to Nice. As lovely as the French Riviera sounds this time of year, I don't won't to tag along on their romantic holiday.

The Riviera is always nice, but I can see why you wouldn't want to be a part of that.

Indeed. Seeing one's father snogging someone is rather unsettling. Even more so when the woman in question looks like a shaved spaniel.

You brew your own perfume? That is impressive. I've heard the process can be very difficult, not to mention dangerous.

Yes, thank you. I brew all my own toiletries. Lotion, cosmetics, soap, shampoo. It's kind of fun. Would you like to meet me in Hogsmeade. We could discuss it more

It sounds like it could be profitable, as well.  I can imagine. I've always found brewing to be very relaxing myself, though I've not ventured into perfume-making, as yet.

[Private to Students]

Are you staying for the holidays because of your father's horrid lady friend? (And I hope you'll forgive me if I haven't secured this properly. I am still working out how a Legens operates.)

[OOC: She better watch herself, or Gildy will steal her secrets for hair care potions and modify her memory. ;-)]

I can't believe you're talking to me! I really like brewing. No, that's a stupid thing to say. Maybe we could brew together sometime? I can show you how to make perfume. I can tell you really like brewing. You have quite the flair for Potions.

[Private to Students]

My Papa is going to be travelling with her, so yes. (If you need help with charming things private, I'd love I can show you, but that reply is fine.)

Thank you. Slughorn makes it difficult to enjoy the lessons, but somehow I still manage to like the subject.

Well, I suppose the bright side is you won't have to smell see her until next year, isn't it? (I think I have it now, but thank you for the offer, all the same.)

That's so true. Slughorn is a disgrace. I hate him. He walked right into me yesterday and said I should be more careful. How did he ever become Head of Slytherin?

If you ever do need help, just ask. I would be glad to.

Our founder is surely spinning in his grave. It's such a relief to know you don't really like him.

These books are a mite tricky. Of course, I had one before they were popular, so I've managed to figure them out. I like my new one better than my old one, because it's green rather than garish pink.

So that was the spinning sound I heard earlier.

I think I'd have to agree with you: anything green is better than garish pink. Though perhaps you might consider giving this girl some advice?

I do believe you're right. Poor, great Salazar. He'll spin his way right out of his sepulcher.

It is, indeed. The pink one was from a family friend who mistakenly thought I liked pink. As for this Ravenclaw lady, I will do my best to assist her. Thank you for pointing that out to me.

Any time, and your response was incredibly helpful. I feared I wouldn't be able to explain the process too well, having just learnt it myself.

According to popular opinion, I'm a "mean, horrid snob," or something along those lines. They may have said, "petty," too. I don't recall exactly.

Well, if you exchange "snob" for "git," that's fairly close to what they call me. And "slimy" -- mustn't forget "slimy." But I've never set much store by popular opinion. I make up my own mind about things.

Such shameful behaviour! You should curse anyone who calls you that. Or let me. I'd protect you I don't set any store in it, either. What do you think of me? Must be why I so despise Slughorn. That idiotic land-walrus!

Sarcasm is the one part of my reputation that I will proudly claim, but your land walrus comment gave me a hearty chuckle. I was most definitely being sincere, there.
